If your horse walks all over a plain rope lead, a chain gives you a fair way to ask for better manners without swapping out your whole setup. This Eldorado chain for lead ropes is solid brass, 47 cm long, with a pistol hook on the end, so it clips to your existing lead and runs over or under the noseband as you prefer. Brass resists rust and stays smooth through the halter rings, and the pistol hook opens easily with one thumb even in gloves.
Use it as a training aid, not a shortcut: pressure and release from a chain lead should be light and brief. It is also handy for horses that chew through soft leads on the trailer or at the wash rack.
