These Catago bell boots are a staple in Icelandic horse training. Made of rubber with a velcro closure, they wrap around the hoof to protect the heel bulbs and coronet from overreach knocks, something gaited horses with active hind ends produce more often than most. At 230 grams they are the weighted style many Icelandic riders use in schooling to encourage more expression in the front end, while still doing ordinary horse boots duty as protection.
